Mission statement:
I created the Women in the Wild Adventure Challenge because it is one of my missions in life to get women moving and exercising. I believe so much in the benefits of exercising and what it can do for anyone. This is a day where I wanted women of all ages, sizes, race, and fitness levels to come out and take this challenge, accomplish this challenge and have fun doing it.

The Women in the Wild Adventure Challenge has more than just one mission it has several.
The biggest mission the challenge promotes is getting women to exercise. The mission here is not to cure but to prevent. Prevent health problems so that they don't happen or if they do your body and mind are ready and strong enough to handle the plan of attack for recovery back to good health.
The benefits of exercise are endless, and the more research that is being done on exercise the more they are finding out how exercise can prevent the onset of many of our nation's health problems. The biggest one being the number one killer of women and that is heart disease.
Getting women involved in exercising and making it part of their lives and the lives of their families, friends and co-workers is what we want to accomplish with this event.
Another mission is to build confidence in women. This challenge is designed to be a beginner friendly adventure challenge for those women who have never done a adventure race before. Any reasonably fit woman can complete this rite of passage to be called a "Wild Woman" and experience the feel of personal victory that comes with such a challenge. This will be a hard challenge whether you are a beginner or a competitor. One only needs to complete the Women in the Wild Adventure Challenge to have the satifaction of being a winner and accomplishing something that no one can take away from you.
Yet another mission is to bring women of all shape and sizes, of all races, and of all ages together to again promote the importance of fitness. You can hear many stories of how these women battle weight problems, cancer, and other hardships yet they overcome their adversity.
Also great to see is the 50 year olds and older for these women are setting the example and sending a message to future generations that you don't have to wait in the rocking chair for the Grim Reaper to come. You can be out there living and enjoying life. They are proving that you can kick ass and look great at 50 and older.
Lastly I want to promote having fun. Exercise doesn't have to be a chore it can be fun. After a hard challenge you can sit back and enjoy the festivities of the challenge. Just like chocolate and peanut butter make a great candy cup, a hard challenge and fun is also a great combination.
