LATEST UPDATES AND NEWS ON THE WOMEN IN THE WILD ADVENTURE CHALLENGE.

.
THE KING IS DEAD. The counties from near and far tremble at the evilness that has been bestowed across the lands. Can no one stop this madness !!!!
And so it begins............ And the story will continue
September 4th 2010- The Queen almost had a heart attack!!!!! For awhile there all I was getting was Down and Dirty Damsels and I was getting worried. Let's all just stop and think what would happen if the Down and Dirty Damsels won it all. I don't want to think about it. Then all of a sudden the Bronze Beauties started rolling in so I was able to relax a bit. For awhile there I thought I was going to have to bargin with those crazy barbarians. Bronze Beauties rule!!!!!!

September 4th 2010- This year the challenge is being located in two different camps.

The main challenge is at Summers Best at the Que that’s where you NEED TO COME to register. You will then be directed where you need to go to park.

Participants that will be going to Camp Harmony will be given directions to Camp Harmony. This will be people who will be participating in the Black Death because your Quest will end there. Also since we will not be parking in Summer’s Best this year when parking is filled on this outskirts you will be directed over to Camp Harmony.  A bus will be shuttling you back and forth from the two camps. The most important thing to remember here is you need to register at Summer’s Best before you do anything else.

Also please try to arrive at registration early. Registration opens at 6:00 am.

Keep in mind we have a bus that will shuttle you back and forth from both camps

What will happen at Camp Harmony:

This year gift bag items and t-shirt will be picked up after the challenge in the Tabernacle on the Camp Harmony side. Inside your gift bags will be your Medieval Tickets. If you brought tickets for you friends and family members they will be in the bags. IMPORTANT YOU CANNOT BUY TICKETS FOR MEDIEVAL FEAST THAT DAY. Wednesday I am giving Camp Harmony the final number on the Medieval Feast. Anyone who doesn’t buy a ticket we will have a concession stand open but you will not be allowed in the Medieval Feast. If you have a ticket and your friends and family do not you will be the only one allowed to enter the Medieval Feast section. NO ACCEPTIONS!!!!!!!!

Camp Harmony will also have the following merriment and festivities:

Good Karma and Bad Karma Drawing

Awards and Trophy Ceremony

The Baking Contest

The Tug of War

The Javelin Throw

King of the Hill

The Chinese Auction (25 cents a ticket), and 3 raffle prize drawings for $1.00

Medieval Demonstrations and

Exhibits and Exhibitors such as a Psychic, Reiki, Hand Treatments, Tastefully simple, Tupperware, etc.

If you want to enter the baking contest you just need to bake a pie or cookie of your choice. You can leave it at registration and we will take it to the Camp Harmony side. And yes it’s probably because I need more desserts that we are doing this. But at the same time the winner will get a trophy.

Black Death Participants: Only for those who want more of a challenge.

Here are some important facts you need to know.

You will start your obstacle course by traveling back by bike to Camp Harmony in fact you are going to reverse the route to go back so you will have another six miles of biking to go. You will dismount off your bike before entering Camp Harmony. At Camp Harmony your Quest will be more on your own. Make sure you have water and snacks it you need it. The course will be numbered and there will be markings to lead you thru the course you will have designated areas in which you will need to collect something at that check point of proof that you made it to that check point. Failure to collect the article at the checkpoint will disqualify you from winning the Black Death. So you will be navigating on your own. We will have people that will be looking for cheaters. Most of the Black Death will be trail running. You have the option to bring trail running shoes. VERY IMPORTANT: At registration we will ask if you are going to do the Black Death if you think you will, we will give you a special needs bag. In this bag you can put your trail running shoes in there along with any food or water/drink you may need. Then when you park at Camp Harmony you will drop the bag off at the special needs bag section near Faith Hall. If you have a camelbak you will leave that also in that area. There will be a time limit on how long you have to be able to enter the Black Death. We will let you know that day when it is no longer possible to enter. If you choose not to do the Black Death you can pick up your bag at Camp Harmony when you go over there for the other festivities. You are responsible for picking your bag up.

REGULAR CHALLENGE PARTICIPANTS:

The regular obstacle course will be number and we will also have markings for you to follow. The obstacle course will be at Summer’s Best. There will be volunteers to guide you through the course. Your finish line with be on Summer’s Best basketball court by the lake. (Same finish line as the two years before). Nothing special will be needed for this course and it more or less for fun. You do not have to do any obstacle that you do not want to do.

FOR BOTH REGULAR AND BLACK DEATH PARTICIPANTS:

LISTEN VERY CAREFULLY YOU WILL GET MESSY ON EITHER COURSE. DO NOT WEAR YOUR SUNDAY BEST. BE PREPARED TO GET MESSY. BLACK DEATH WE ARE 99.9 PERCENT SURE YOU WILL BE MESSY.

August 3rd 2010- Question: Order of the Challenge Event- Biking first (road bike), then walk/run and finish with the the regular obstacle course or for the more competative the Black Death course. August 3rd 2010 - Question being asked allot: Can I come to this event by myself ? Answer: Yes even though we have women coming with friends and some with family that will watch,we have women that just come by themselves. I also know after what I saw last year we have very friendly wenches (because as we all know wenches have to stick together) so I am sure you will not feel out of place.

August 3rd 2010 -Question being asked allot- If we (or I )do not want to stay at the lodge is there a hotel in the area that we (or I )can stay at? Answer: Yes. Lodging has become a very popular question so I decided to design a webpage with lodging information. Also remember it is not necessary to stay overnight to particpate in the challenge. The challenge is just like a normal challenge in the fact you can come up for the day participate and leave. We do however have allot of out of towners coming so I know you guys do need this info.

Friday night is booking at the lodge. I will give everyone a heads up when we are reaching our maximum.

The webpage for lodging: http://www.maradnet.com/wildwomen/participant/ac.html

June 21st 2010-Be sure to check out our 2010 Sponsor's so far. I want to personally Thank everyone who is contributing something to this event. Let me remind everyone why the Women in the Wild Adventure Challenge exist. Our main purpose to to promote a healthier way of living thru fitness. Fitness to me is the fountain of youth. Fitness is also what makes you feel great about yourself. It's the springboard to a new life, a life that can help fight and prevent diseases, a life that helps you deal with the everyday stresses of life, a life that gives you confidence by accomplishing a goal and with the new found confidence in the accomplishment you go out and accomplish event greater things. It's to show your family the importance of fitness and what you can accomplish if you work hard. You set the example for healthier and better lifestyle. When these sponsors come aboard they have the same mission I have for you and that is to get you moving and get you fit. So to my 2010 sponsors I would like to say "Thank You" on behalf of all Wild Women
June 21st 2010-Still looking for those volunteer villiage idiots and peasants to help keep you wenches inline.
June 21st 2010-Tip for the Black Death-The Holy Grail is what you will seek on a trail that goes to nowhere . Bring back the Grail along with the fallen and you shall be rewarded
June 21st 2010-Women in the Wild is drawing near and I know you wenches are out polishing up your skills as we speak. Get ready to have some medieval fun September 11, 2010. More information has been added to the website so check it out when you get a chance. Any questions you know where I am at. Please give me at least 24 hours to answer the question seeing that a Queen's work schedule is hectic and busy. Which reminds me that I hope my Bronze Beauties are out there working your booties off for this challenge so that I can be assure that a brunette is at the helm when all is said and done. The worst thing that could happen is for a Down and Dirty Damsel to take the helm!!!!! So brunettes do me proud and train your A### off.
June 4th 2010-Summer's Best and Camp Harmony have been gracious enough to let us use their campgrounds. Please respect the campgrounds. Do not throw trash around and please follow the rules that each campgrounds has set up.

Wild Women, I have participated in many events and with some events I have participated in, I have seen a great event compromised because other participants were disrespectful to the rules. This can lead to being banned from having an event held at the location. The Quemahoning is a beautiful and wonderful gold mine for a event such as Women in the Wild. Please be respectful to landowners and to the campgrounds that we are using so that we can continue to hold our event there. I bring this up because we keep growing in numbers so it becomes even more important for everyone to do their share in following the rules.

June 4th 2010-TIP FOR THE BLACK DEATH!!!! You will make your life easier if your horse weighs less because a pail is not what your will be carrying.

June 4th 2010-Let's try this again shall we!!!!!! Last year many of you were saying how you were going to dress up for this event and then the day of the event let's just say a couple of you kept your word. The rest of you chicken out. So let's see if we can get some great outfits for the Medieval Themed Event this year. I'm not going to hold my breath after last year though.

Also this year car decorating. Now you can decorate your car and drive here, although if a cop pulls you over your on your own and I know nothing, or you can wait and decorate it when you get here. We will see how this one does, again I won't be holding my breath.

June 4th 2010-This question is being ask allot!!!!! Question: Can I just participate in the challenge? Answer: Yes, you can come up participate in the challenge and go home. The day is yours to do what you want. We will have a program schedule this year. For instance the Medieval Feast will be held from 12:00 to 4:00pm at Faith Hall. Since participants will be coming in at different times, we have allowed for this when setting up the feast schedule.

You do not have to stay overnight at the campgrounds either, that is your choice and for your convenience.

June 4th 2010-Confirmation- We will have a charter bus taking participants back and forth from Camp Harmony to Summer's Best. Starting at 6:30 am . Remember that this year cars will not be allowed into Summer's Best to park only to drop participants off. We will let you know later what we plan on doing about the parking scenario for this years event.

June 4th 2010-Question: Do I get a prize for winning? Answer: Oh hell no. You get the satisfaction of knowing you just kicked everyones ass around, what more do you want!!!!!!! Your that Wildest of all Wild Women......

June 4th 2010-Question-Can family and friends Come to watch? Answer: Yes, I believe this went over really well last year. I love that fact that husband , kids, friends, or other family members were their to watch their wife , mother, friend, sister, etc take the challenge. It actually added to the event in a positive way and our main goal of Women in the Wild is to promote fitness. So the challenge is family friendly. The only thing we ask is that family and friends stay clear of the challenge field as the girls are participating in the event, and only participants will be allowed in transition area. Do not let young children go unsupervised and also please do not let children be in areas that they shouldn't be in. Children need to be with a adult at all times. Also food on the route, transition area and at finish line our for participants only. You can purchase a Medieval Feast ticket ahead or we will have a concession stand open on the Camp Harmony side for family members and friends to purchase food and beverage.

June 4th 2010- Question from potential participant: How Wild does Wild Women Get? Answer- We get wild enough to have a great time, challenge ourselves and eat drink and be merry. It's one big party and athletic event rolled up into one. Everyone just does their own thing and I throw lots of surprises everyone's way.

If your definition of wild is dropping acid, eating mushrooms, and dancing around naked this isn't the event for you.

May 21st 2010- Volunteers, Volunteers, Volunteers please get the word out and send those peasents and village idiots my way.

May 21st 2010-Alright I am just starting to put together the schedule of this year's events. As it gets closer will will get more time specific and more place specific. This will just give you a idea of what will be happening during the weekend.

http://www.maradnet.com/wildwomen/participant/adventureday.html

May 21st 2010 - As we all know it is everyone's Medieval Quest to take the Wild Women Adventure Challenge and conquer it. However the Gauntlet has been thrown down by the Bronze Beauties to participate in supremacy of the lands.

The Queen being a Bronze Beauty herself has sent her messengers to the top five counties and have summoned them to the Kingdom of Harmony to partake in merriment , fellowship, and friendly competition so that it can be settled once and for all in the Kingdom of Harmony who is the best in the land.

***To the Down and Dirty Damsels-The Queen has also sent a interpeter with her messenger so that he may explain it in simplier terms for you to understand.

For your Coat of Arms and the County that you have your allegiance with, please go to the Main Page:

http://www.maradnet.com/wildwomen/participant/main.html

If you have a problem figuring out what county you belong to then you probably are a Down and Dirty Damsel.

April 16th 2010-New this year!!!! Repelling, Wall Climbing, Low Ropes, High Ropes, Canoeing.

Camp Harmony will be offering these exciting workshops/courses to our Wild Women this year.

Many Adventure Challenges include the above courses and in the future these will be included in our Women in the Wild Obstacle Challenges. So the main purpose this year is to get women educated and and start at a beginner level with these obstacles so that in the future if you see this either in our Adventure Challenge or another Adventure Challenge you will be able to know that you are capable of doing this. Dan who will be running the show assures me that they haven't had a victim yet. They are professional and certified instructors at Camp Harmony. Any questions please email me. Here is the webpage to sign up for this :

http://www.maradnet.com/wildwomen/participant/ac.pdf

Also a little note for you wenches, we are now in the process of bringing in more demonstrations. As we solidify this I will start putting it online. Some of the demonstrations will be free of charge others will have a charge.

April 16th 2010-Separate from the Adventure Challenge and After the Challenge for you to take part if you wish-This year you will be split into counties under a certain shield to compete in a couple different events. How you will be split up will be announced in May. Now participation in these fun events will be optional and if you don't participate you can come and cheer your side on. I encourage you to take part in these events as it will be all in the name of fun and team spirit. These events will be free of charge.
April 16th 2010-For all the participants that have registered you will be receiving a email to insure that your email is working correctly as this will be the main way I will be in contact with you. I will be letting you know the latest updates as we progress to the date of this event.

March 25th 2010-Camp Harmony will be handling the Feast this year. I met with Nikki who's job is being able to feed the masses. I believe Nikki will be a great asset to this event. I also filled her in on some of you vegetarians that will be attending Wild Women. We will be adding a couple vegetarian dishes for you and veggie burgers. The food will be a mixture of healthy food and just downright sinful food.

Feb 28th 2010-The obstacle course does have some changes this year. What I can tell you is this. The water slide will be taken out this year. So no waterslide.
