Ok guys just a couple things to go over. As everyone can see this newsletter is a bit on the late side but better late than never.

Had a great vacation and now it is back to work, which right now is overwhelming.

We have several things on the 2010 schedule.

First the Rachel Carson. I will list hikes that we will be doing either on the front page of my website or on Meetup.com. Now Meetup. com is something new that I am playing around with, but what I like about this website is that I can put in hikes or other things we will be doing on this site and it will alert you to the fact that I will be doing it and you can respond if you want to do it or you don't want to do it. Why I see this site as a asset is that it does alert you to the fact that I will have an event or hike even if I put one in last minute.

Getting back to the Rachel Carson hikes most of them will be on a Sunday morning. What is killing us right now is the weather. As soon as I see the opportunity to get you guys out there we are going. So stay ready. In the meantime I need you working on your base milage. I am hoping that you guys doing the Rachel have a 5 mile base. Which means simply walking 5 miles at a pace of no more than 20 minute a mile once a week and feeling ok with it. Work on that please.

And I know most of you know that I will be doing as many training hikes with you as I can and will be with you the day of the challenge to see you thru.

Which brings me to the next event on the 2010 schedule. The Kentucky Ironman

As many know right now I will be doing the Kentucky Ironman this year. This is my number one sport priority. I plan on eating, breathing, sleeping ironman until I do it. What this means to everyone is that I will be keeping my class schedule to a minimum and my mornings are going to be strictly ironman training. I am not sure what events I will be participating in this year but I will let you guys know. Classes however will stay the same but no more than what I have. Of course we all know come end of March or Beginning of April there will no longer be Saturday classes durng the summer.

Third Annual Women in the Wild Adventure Challenge. Again a major 2010 priority. The "What's New" will be up sometime in February and then I will keep you updated on what is going on. As I said before you will see those webpages come to life as we get closer to the event itself. On another great note I have more registrations for this than last year already so we are off to a great start. I still need allot of volunteers for this event so if you know someone who would love to volunteer please let me know.

Lastly I want to make everyone aware of my current personal situation. My Grandmother just the other day was put on hospice. Grandma has been sick for sometime now and her heart is just bad. She has chosen not to do anything evasive so it's a day by day thing. My own mother died when I was 10 and my Grandmother has been like my mother to me thruout these years. We are one of those mother and daughter teams that do everything together from lunches to vacations to shopping. She is 94 years old and still very much of sound mind. So at this point both Grandma and I know the reality of the situation and it's going to be hard for both of us. Her for leaving me and for me letting her go. But we had had our circle of life talk and after I get this newsletter out I am going to see her today. This take the top of my priority list. Nothing at this time is more important then her. So I know everyone will understand if I have to cancel a class or these newsletter get back up a bit. I just know my time with her is limited and I want to spend as much time with her as I can.

On a Valentine note I also want to thank my husband for being there for me and Grandma as a rock for both of us. People that know Lorin know romance isn't his best strength but what he does instead is take such good care of me and Grandma in everyday life and I Love him for that and I thank him for that.

Guys spring is just around the corner so hang in there. I know this weather is bumming everyone out but that is no excuse to miss workouts. GET THEM IN!!!!

Do not use weather as an excuse to miss your workouts. Shovel, Shovel, Shovel.

Happy Valentines Day to All......Marcia
